Plumbing is any commercial or residential system that carries liquids for various uses. Different plumbing systems include single-stage, dual-stage, threaded inserts, direct flow and pullout toilets, showers, dishwashers, water softeners, sewer lines, water pipelines, and water storage. Plumbing also uses specialized plumbing fixtures, valves, pipelines, tanks, and many other apparatuses for carrying liquids. It is usually done on the ground or inside a building through holes called faucets.

In most countries, public utilities supply plumbing services. Private companies usually build water heaters and supply them to residences and commercial establishments. Private companies usually supply boilers, domestic hot water heaters, gas boilers, and fuel/oil/turbine hybrid water heaters.

The selection of the right plumbing system for the home depends on the location. It must be properly connected to the main water supply system for proper functioning. It must have faucets designed for hot and cold water and be of the appropriate size. The main components of the plumbing system include: water pipes or drainpipes, fixture assembly, trap, valve, and fixtures. Water pipes are placed below the soil surface in trench or ditches. Usually, the water pipes are placed between the house floor and the upper floor of the building.

Most houses and offices have two sets of drains-the unclogged drains and the drains that are full. Unclogging drains requires some basic plumbing tips. Always make sure you don’t use soap or detergent when cleaning your sinks or tubs because they can easily induce blockages. Proper disposal of garbage is very important. Avoid dumping garbage in your drainage system because it can induce blockages. Use paper towels or rags to clean outside the tub or sink and avoid using dirty water for washing your clothes inside the bathtub or toilet.

It is better to hire a professional plumber to check your plumbing system if you think there is any leak or clog anywhere. A simple test using water and a flashlight can determine whether there is a leak. If you are unable to find the source of the leakage then the piping behind the wall must be checked as well. Here are some basic plumbing tips to check and repair leaks or clogs in your home or office plumbing system:

If there is a problem with the water pressure, you might notice reduced pressure on the faucet or the shower head while washing your hair. In case of a leaking tap, you may notice water dripping from the tap but no bubbles coming out. If you check the temperature of the water coming out from the faucet then it would indicate a problem with the water pressure. Some people use bottled water but you can reduce the cost by using filtered or purified water. A plumber can help you choose the best plumbing solutions for your home or office.
